In April 2026, a delegation from PSA, one of the world's leading port operators, made its first visit to DEEPLOCK's Nanjing R&D center to inspect the company's proprietary intelligent twistlock handling equipment. The visit marks international attention for DEEPLOCK's port-automation technology and establishes a foundation for future commercial cooperation.

A complete Deeplock system demonstration

During the visit, DEEPLOCK presented the engineering prototype of its next-generation automated container twistlock solution to an international customer for the first time, demonstrating the system's core operating workflow on site.

The PSA delegation closely observed the equipment and held detailed technical discussions on cycle time, environmental adaptability and integration logic with the port TOS. The two teams examined practical applications for automated twistlock stations in high-density container terminals.

  • 01Adaptive gripper system — compatible with single-wire, double-wire, fully or semi-automatic locks, mid-locks and standard cones, addressing the “one lock, one machine” constraint.
  • 02AI-guided vision — precise 3D positioning, intelligent inbound lock-state verification and license-plate recognition for accurate work in complex conditions.
  • 03Intelligent software architecture — seamless integration with terminal operating systems, enabling a closed automation loop from quay crane to yard.

Productization: CE and UKCA applications underway

The automated equipment is now at a critical stage of productization, with CE certification for the European Union and UKCA certification for the United Kingdom in progress. Beyond market-access requirements, both certifications are international recognition of product safety and quality management.

“CE and UK certification will be the key that opens high-end European and American markets,” said DEEPLOCK's head of R&D. “Our detailed exchange with PSA also helps us understand international technical standards and market requirements more precisely.”

Continuous innovation for smarter ports

The exchange with PSA is an important milestone in DEEPLOCK's Asia-Pacific strategy and global service network. Direct dialogue with a leading Southeast Asian port operator validated the forward-looking adaptive gripper design and further strengthened the company's technical position in port automation.

DEEPLOCK will continue to focus on automated container twistlock handling, accelerate international safety certifications and support the shift toward digital, safe and intelligent port logistics. The company looks forward to working with PSA and more global partners on a Chinese solution for smart ports.
